Why do I write?
What the hell??? I didn’t know Floss & May were hosting Food For Thought Friday! Admittedly, I haven’t been following blogs much, but lately I saw all these posts popping up about Why Do I Write. So I thought I’d better check out FFTF. I remember reading my friend’s responses before and gave a reply to the Quickie Ouestion last October.
I’d better subscribe, because May and Floss won’t speak to me when they find out I know about it and didn’t. And, I couldn’t bear that.
As I read all these in-depth and insightful posts, full of thought, soul searching/baring and therapeutic value, I thought hell that’s not me, I don’t do serious… what would I say.
I write two blogs. My writing blog I’ve written for ten years and my friends and family can read that one. It consists of mostly fiction, my favorite is 100 word flash fiction written to prompts, a few memoirs along the way, and the occasional ‘journalistic piece’, I like to illustrate my stories as I like to do on my sex blog here (although not the same photos). I write that blog for the joy of writing, no other reason. I have probably written over a thousand posts and only one was of a deep personal nature, it was the night Amy Winehouse saved me. I don’t blog to talk about myself, I can’t.
I always wanted to write sexy stories, and being an exhibitionist love to show my … well you know. When a writer friend from my past started writing a sex blog, I discovered… Sex Blogs. She encouraged me to try it and I’ve been writing this one for over three years. I met Kayla, Marie and Molly right off the bat and without them I don’t know if I would have kept it up. Masturbation Monday and Wicked Wednesday gave me a platform to write sexy stories and Sinful Sunday gave me a place to … well you know.
It is fun to write sex stories for a change, but don’t expect anything too personal or thought provoking from me. I think in the hundreds of posts on this blog there is only one that touched anything ‘soul baring’.
My biggest take away from my blog are the friends I’ve made. My BFF in Chicago and some best pals in the UK. And, SS, MM, WW and one of my favorite places to write some 100wff… FF. Now I’m adding FFTF to my list. That’s why I write. As Arnold would say… I’ll be back.

Hey Floss, I was very excited when I saw that you and May were doing this. I was reading Lexy’s response to your prompt and she mentioned you doing the F4TF so I thought I had better investigate. I’m glad I did. You are exactly right about blogging pals, true ones are precious to me and so much fun to interact with. Now of course, I am distraught that I missed Selfie Week, look at that Posy having all the fun with that notorious selfie stick of hers!

Aah, it’s fun reading a “why i write” that’s a bit different! So many of us are here baring our souls for therapeutic reasons (among other reasons) and we kind of NEED someone lighthearted to come along and make us smile with the pure joy of exhibitionism (and elegant cooking). Seriously, I think it’s a good balance, the blogosphere needs all kinds and this prompt has been so fun because there are nuances to why each person comes back to their blog; glad you joined. Like you I’m somewhat new to this meme. May and Floss are definitely a draw, as are the excellent topics they’ve been coming up with. So, see you again soon …. 😉

Yes, it is interesting to read people’s stories. I struggle trying to get too serious about this whole thing and sometimes have been afraid I may have offended some with posts, or comments that are too lighthearted.

Can I say I’ve known you a long while? I’ve lost touch with some of the writers outside of the sex writing community unfortunately. I’m glad to see you around though.
